Farewell, my friends
For I am fading
Losing to something you’ve never known
A pain from my skin to bones

To my friends
Good night to you
Now the mask I will remove
And once and for all
You may see right through

Now, dear friends
I want to say
You never knew me anyway
The pictures we took were all just lies
I was prestidigitation in front of your eyes

And, my sweet friends
I want you to know
In your absence the hole in my heart will surely grow
I will sew it up as best I can
But I am merely mortal
I am only man

Farewell, my friends
Goodbye to the husk
To the empty shell you once knew
I am fading away

Goodbye, Farewell, Adieu

i like this poem ... though, i think no one can truely get to know anyone else.

We should be thankful if we know ourselves by the end of our lifes.(just an opinion)

Take care

Some people knwo themselves too well and then they hate who they are. There's always a line.

I love this poem- it's so pretty >w<
People pretty much never really know eachother. Most people present themselves different ways in front of different people, so often that they might forget who they actually were to begin with.

You think I'm okay, but I'm just a great actress.

Then there are the days that, experimentally, you peel away all the layers to find out your core...and then you realise that you didn't know what your core was to begin with.

It makes you wonder if there really is a 'true self'. Because people always say, 'Oh when you were little you didn't change yourself for anyone, it's who you really were!' But when I was little I picked my nose and thought the world revolved around me, I know that's not who I really am, so really is everyone just constantly changing in the first place?

You gain most of who you will be when you are a child, all you're manerisms, and how you will act on the world. But I don't think people actually stay that nose-picking self. Still we put on so many layers it's hard to remember that little kid self.

So true. Though as different things have happened over the years my view on the world and people in general has changed tremendously, along with manerisms. Your personality changes along with your life so it's hard to tell which person you are.

:iconizbetthequeen:
Every experience any human being has is fertilizer for growth as a species. And any epxerience one has can help that own person grow. We are constantly and exponentally changing.

(however I still suck at spelling :XD:)

So our one true self is constantly changing, but will eventually get lost within the masks we put on to present ourself.

Lots of smart talk xDD
